The 2:06 min visual released by the company on Sunday is an absolute world class stunner. So it will have to be seen whether this technical achievement in visual effects rolls over to the character development, the acting and the writing in this re-imagining of the folk tale of Nambi. In my opinion, what has been released alone is already a worthwhile visual achievement for the industry, the rest will simply be icing on the cake.
ADDMAYA are not new to this and have worked with other creators before on exciting projects such as Raymond Malinga's "A Kalabanda Ate My Homework" and Nabwiso Film's "#Family TV Series" and many more, but this seems to be an inhouse project for ADDMAYA and boy has it had Ugandans talking. I mean we always knew this was possible by this team, but to see it coming to life in such a spectacular fashion as this, is entirely something else.
Please pardon my excitement, but I write this as one who has personally worked on motion graphics and animation before and when I tell you this is a technical achievement, this is a technical achievement. I believe this couldn't be done to this level at least, when ADDMAYA started 12yrs ago.
So my only hope is that ADDMAYA can fully develop this story of NAMBI into the complete universe of characters that we know it is and string other movies behind this. Also, there's thousands of folk tales across Uganda to be told and this is absolutely the best way to get the ball rolling in the right direction.
Salute to the ADDMAYA team, I can't wait for this and many more to hit the cinema.
