Kampala, Uganda – Gaetano Kagwa, Actor, Producer, TV Host, and Radio Presenter at Capital FM Uganda has recently taken to social media to express his disappointment in the producers of the hit global television music show "The Voice Africa" (which is directly associated with "The Voice" America), and his contractual agreements with the show.
In 2023, Gaetano hosted the celebrated talent show, which
showcased exceptional performers from 14 African countries and featured
renowned celebrity coaches like Awilo from DRC, Yemi Alade from Nigeria, and
Lady Jaydee from Tanzania. However, despite the show's success and the vibrant
talent it highlighted, Kagwa has voiced deep disappointment regarding the
fulfillment of contractual obligations toward him by the producers specifically regarding payments owed him for work done.
In a series of video posts, Gaetano suggested that the payment terms of his contract with "The Voice Africa" haven't been honored, raising questions about the integrity of the agreements within "The Voice Africa" production, its not known if this issue is specific to just Gaetano or one which affects the other show hosts as well.
Gaetano, who himself has a Law School background with more than two decades of experience in the industry, took this opportunity to caution others on the importance of thoroughly reading and understanding contracts and their obligations and implications before signing.
His message serves as a strong reminder that contractual disputes can arise at the most uncomfortable times, and that its crucial for individuals in the industry to protect themselves through proper scrutiny and vetting to avoid potential pitfalls. He warned that failing to do so could come back to "bite you in the a**."
As this situation develops, we will continue to monitor it and provide updates on his experiences on the show and give you any further revelations as they arise regarding his experience at "The Voice Africa".
