The FILM: Divizionz (Drama | 89 min)
In Kampala's Kamwokya slum, a close circle of music-loving friends is excited about the opportunity to perform at an open-mic night in a downtown club. The group comprises members from various backgrounds across the country, which leads to the occasional conflict, bickering and mistrust. Kapo (Kyagulanyi "Bobi Wine" Ssentamu), takes charge of the group, but struggles to maintain unity among them. The film offers a powerful metaphor for the national divisions that can prove to be challenging to overcome.

Reviews:
"A rambunctious, stylish shout-out from Uganda, “Divizionz” marks an entirely fresh alternative to every dominant trend in African filmmaking. More streetwise than Francophone productions on the continent, livelier and more energetic than the vast majority of staid South African movies and considerably more cinematic than pics out of Nigeria’s “Nollywood” video movement, this urban misadventure involving a quartet of Kampala youths could become some kind of landmark in indie sub-Saharan filmmaking." – Robert Koehler, Variety Magazine, Hollywood.
