Raymond Malinga's Directorial debut for the new Disney animation series Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire will be out on July 5, 2023 and it looks absolutely stunning. One thing many Ugandans will recognise quickly from the trailer is the Ankole cattle.
Yes, Malinga (A Kalabanda ate My Homework, 2017) did create at least one main hero character for the series called "Herderboy" who is a young hero determined to prove himself and must protect his tribe’s precious herd of cyborg cattle from a deadly spirit monster that threatens their whole way of life.
I can't help but make the comparison to a younger version of W'Kabi, Head of Security and Keeper of the gates and boarders of Wakanda, and his herd of Giant Rhinos in Black Panther (2018), a character played by British-Ugandan Actor Daniel Kaluuya.
Also for this series is multitalented Actress Florence Kasumba who makes an appearance like she did as Ayo in Black Panther. Director Raymond Malinga also gets to put his talents to work alongside other Directors for the series namely Shofela Coker and Ahmed Teilab. The series will be Executive Produced by The Director of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse Peter Ramsey.
