Mathew Nabwiso “Gilo” Wins big at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards

Best known for his role as Gilo in the TV Series “The Hostel”, Mathew Nabwiso becomes the first Ugandan to win an award at the inaugural Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards held in Nigeria over the weekend.

It was not however his TV performance that won him the award but rather a supporting role in the Matt Bish produced movie “Good Catholic Girl”.

Nominated against strong contenders such as Nigerian Actor Osita Iheme (of Aki and Ukwa fame), South African Actor Thomas Gumede, Nigerian Kalu Ikeagwu and Fabian Adeoye who plays Bola on the hit series Jacob’s Cross.

Winning this was definitely no small feat for the Ugandan Actor and hopefully this can now translate into a boast in the profile of the local movie industry.
